Hewitt also wrote her a two page letter praising her as a role model and admiring her work. Paltrow sent a reply a week later, and Hewitt framed it - "It's my favorite thing." When the two actresses met for the first time at the 2000 Golden Globes, "She came up to me and gave me a hug for the flowers. I thought I was going to pass out. I was absolutely going to have a heart attack."

Hewitt was almost cast as Juliet in "Romeo + Juliet" (1996), but at the last moment she lost the part to Claire Danes because the director felt she wasn't "modern" enough. She auditioned for the role of Tricia Jones in "Mallrats" (1995).

At the age of four while at a restaurant dance hall she disappeared. She was found on the stage singing "Help Me make It Through The Night." She got the name "Love" from her mother's college roommate.

She was offered a role on the WB's "Charmed"(1998), to take over Shannen Doherty's role, but turned it down. She hosted the Comedy for a Cure and raised over $100,000 for Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance's research programs.
Her mother is Italian and her father is German.

She recently played Nancy Sinatraon NBC's "American Dreams" (2002) and adopted a puppy on location that she named Boots. At the time she was performing "These Boots Were Made For Walking," hence the appropriate name.
She has recorded four albums: "Love Songs" in 1992, "Let's Go Bang" in 1995, "Jennifer Love Hewitt" in 1996, and "BareNaked" in 2002, which was produced by singer/songwriter Meredith Brooks.

Love Hewitt Quotes:

"When I came to Los Angeles, it was the first time that I ever felt like I belonged somewhere. Not because it was wacky, but because people here understood what I felt like to perform, and there were other kids my age who wanted to do it. I didn't get looked at as, 'God, you freak.'"

"I don't consider myself a great dresser either. But I try. Most of the time I'm in khakis and a white T-shirt. I'm a total Gap girl. Super casual, hair in a pony tail and no makeup."

"I try to find things that are insanely cheap and brilliant. My Bonne Bell lip gloss is about 75 cents, and I have worn it as my lipstick to almost every main event in Hollywood in the past two years."

"I would just love once to be called sexy. Just because it would make me something other than cute."
